On October 28th 2014, The Royal Marines Celebrated their 350th anniversary. To
mark the event, they commissioned two marches to be composed, a quick march and
a slow march. Both marches were advertised in worldwide competitions and Prince
Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh was the winner of the slow march section.
Until recently, Prince Philip held the highest rank in The Royal Marines , that of:
The Captain General and this march, is dedicated to him.
