In 2008, a worldwide competition was launched to commission an original
composition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the formation of The
Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm.
The brief required that the music would accompany a short film (8 minutes)
that chronicled the history of The Fleet Air Arm from the early days of air
balloon flight to the present day jet fighter aircraft.
This piece won the competition and is now recognised as the official signature
piece of The Fleet Air Arm.
