I wrote this version of Auld Lang Syne for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in
2013 and it has now become the standard arrangement used in every Finale of the
Tattoo. The main difference in this version is the use of the bagpipe countermelody for the
last section. It also features a “Status Quo” rock section at the same point.
