This fanfare was composed for the opening of the 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military
tattoo. The piece starts with shouting and jeering (not on the recording)depicting
hoards of invaders which is the signal for the Cornyx to sound the alarm, depicted
here by the French Horns. Several, (more traditional) Bugle calls are then heard and
the fanfare rises into a very British and stoic piece with an uplifting and rousing
finish.
